Would a light visor be a good solution?

Is a light visor a good solution when you need something more portable? I am forever running after my kids and find it hard to do a whole session of light therapy sitting in one place.

Light visors are worn on the head like a base-ball cap casting light from the peak over your eyes. The white light they emit should contain no ultra-violet rays so there is no danger to your eyes from that.

You can wear a light visor as you go about your normal activities (including running after your kids) as it is fully battery-driven. The only disadvantage is the cost and inconvenience of replacing the batteries occasionally although some work with rechargeable batteries.

You may find a light visor less effective than a light box although some SAD patients find that wearing one for 30 to 40 minutes a day is enough to keep their symptoms at bay. If a light visor is not fully effective for you, you may feel better with a combination of visor and traditional light box treatment.

Another option for portability is the new Litebook type of light box which is smaller than a normal light box and can be more easily taken from room to room.
